Ways to help preserve the valley
Membership
‘The Gwyddon Valley Group’ is a voluntary organisation consisting of local people who have an interest in maintaining and enhancing the beautiful Gwyddon Valley in Abercarn for future generations to enjoy. Our Members come from varying backgrounds, some in full time employment, and just give whatever time they can to help in this aim.
We are always looking for new members because the more members we have the more our voices will be heard and listened to.
Therefore, if you have an interest in this valley and would like a say in how it will be managed in the future or would just like to be kept updated with the changes planned, please get in touch by email (gwyddonvalley@gmail.com), or by using our enquiry form without any obligation, for more details.
Volunteering
The ‘Gwyddon Valley Group’ needs volunteers for activities such as
- help and support for community social events,
- repairing and installing fencing,
- constructing benches for the valley,
- litter picking,
- building and installing bird boxes,
- clearing paths, walls, areas of overgrown plants and undergrowth,
- Re-instating ponds within the valley,
- Tree planting and other environmental improvements.
- Just popping up for a chat, show support and a free cuppa!
These activities take place throughout the year with details either emailed or WhatsApp to our database of volunteers.
